FIFTY YEARS' SERVICE

STANDARD INSURANCE COMPANY MR F. T. ANDERSON'S RECORD Fifty years of. service with the Standard Insurance Company was celebrated yesterday by Mr F. T. Anderson, who at the same time completed 26 years as manager of the Dunedin branch of the company. Head office and Otago branch staffs gathered at the head office, and presented Mr Anderson with a pair of binoculars and bound volumes of letters of congratulation from managers, members and agents of the company from Australia and New Zealand Mr Anderson joined the company as a junior on leaving school in May, 1889, and after holding various positions, was appointed manager of the Dunedin branch in 1913. In making the presentation, the general manager of the company (Mr A. H. Fisher) congratulated Mr Anderson on his outstanding record. »nd wished both Mr Anderson and Mrs Anderson, who was presented with a crystal vase, continued happiness and success. He expressed the hope that Mr Anderson would spend many more years in the company's service. Other members of the staff also spoke, congratulating Mr Anderson, whose toast was drunk with musical honours. Mr Anderson suitably replied, recalling old incidents and experiences, and the evening was concluded with a social gathering.
