KIWI DEFENCE CLUB

The Kiwi Defence Rifle Club fired the first stage of the 15-shot match at 600 yards on the Fairview range on Saturday afternoon. A rear fishtail breeze and a hard light were not good conditions for the marksmen. A 70 out of a possible 75, secured by J. Porteous, was the best scratch score for th 6 dsy• The Kiwi and Dunedin Rifle Clubs and other local riflemen will meet in the Kiwi Club room next meeting night to consider a rifleman’s proposition with regard to the present international situation. The tabulated results of shoot and progress reports of the various trophy positions are as follows: —

J Kilgour 30 12 A pairs match in conjunction with the shoot was won by R. Johnston and P. McEwan (136). Second place was secured by H. Butel and D. Smith (135). After a shoot-off with A. Parker and K. Stuart, E. Adams and A. Begg secuured third prize with an aggregate of 132.
