WOMAN FINED £25 SEQUEL TO STREET BRAWL (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Jan. 10. A large crowd gathered at the corner of Vivian street and Cuba street vesterdav afternoon led to the arrest of Marjorie Lock, aged 39, and Nellie Money, aged 62, on charges of drunkenness and fighting. When Lock was searched a matchbox containing two small packets of onium was found, and to-day in the Magistrate’s Court she was fined £ 25, in default six weeks’ imprisonment. for being in possession of the drug. It was stated by counsel that she was married to a Chinese opium addict and had bought opium at his behest. Both defendants were convicted and discharged for drunkenness, and Lock was fined 20s. in default seven days’ imprisonment, for fighting. The charge of fighting against Money was dismissed. Lock was ordered to pay £lO of the fine immediately and the balance within seven days.
