ELDERLY MAN KILLED STRUCK BY MOTOR CYCLE (Per United Press Association) GISBORNE, Dec. 26. As the result of being struck by a motor cycle at 9.30 on Saturday night, Thomas Kane, aged 69, a pensioner, was admitted to hospital suffering from a fractured skull, and died 15 minutes later. Thu motor cyclist, Thomas Brodie, suffered head abrasions, and a pillion rider, named Handley. received a liroken nose. Th« accident occurred at a town intersection. THROWN FROM MOTOR CYCLE HEAD INJURIES PROVE FATAL. (Per United Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. Dec 26. Fatal injuries were received by John Edward Wesley, aged 41, of Opunake, when he was thrown from his motor cycle on the Main road near Oaonui on Sunday morning. He died in the New Plymouth Hospital that evening as the result of severe head injuries. Nigel Matthew Ethelbert Watson, who was rjding pillion, was thrown clear, and was not injured. The accident was caused by the puncture of a tyre on the back wheel. As a result the cycle wobbled, throwing Wesley so that he struck his head on the road. After being attended by a doctor from Opunake ne was taken to the hospital at New Plymouth. MOTORIST'S ARM CRUSHED AMPUTATION NECESSARY (Per United Press Association) HASTINGS. Dec. 26. As the result of injuries which were received by Theodore George White, aged 28, a widower, of Hastings, in a motor accident at the week-end, it was found necessary to amputate his right arm. White was driving along the Hastings-Napier main highway when his car came into collision with a lorry. He had his elbow out of the window of the car, and, though the collision was only a glancing one. the ridge of the lorry platform crushed his arm. MOTOR CYCLE SMASH PILLION RIDER KILLED (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 26. One man died frcm injuries received and another was severely hurt when a motor cycle struck a" concrete post opposite St. Patrick's College, Silverstream, at 6 p.m. on Saturday. The man killed was John Johnson McKay, aged 59, married, a painter, of 24 Bay street, Petone. The injured man was Arthur W. Evans, a painter, of 1 Te Puni street, Petone, who suffered a fractured left arm, one finger of the left hand being severed. McKay was a pillion passenger on a motor cycle ridden by Evans. He received severe head injuries and died in hospital at 8.30 p.m. Evans was reported to-night to be progressing favourably. CYCLE STRIKES POLE DRIVER AND PASSENGER INJURED (Per United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 26. A motor cyclist was seriously injured and a pillion rider suffered minor injuries when the machine they were riding got out of control and struck a telephone pole in Colombo street this afternoon. The rider was Allan Pinn, of Runanga, West Coast. He was taken to the Christchurch Hospital in an unconscious condition, suffering from a double fracture of (he left forearm and severe head injuries. His passenger was Leo Robinson, of Runanga, who received injuries to the left leg.

BITTEN BY DOG Cyril Clark, a young boy who lives at Waitati, was admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 6.15 last evening suffering from injuries to his hand received when he was bitten by a dog nt his home. CYCLIST INJURED Injuries to his left thigh were received by Ross Simpson, a young man residing at 24 Jackson street, Kaikorai, when he fell off his cycle in Taieri road on Sunday afternoon. He was admitted to the Hospital at 5.30. FRACTURE OF RIBS Louise Frame, an elderly woman residing at 16 London street, was admitted to the Hospital at 4 p.m. on Saturday suffering from a fracture of the ribs caused by falling at her home. FALL DOWN STAIRS Margaret Wilson .a young woman residing at 289 High street, was admitted to Hospital at 5.10 p.m. on Saturday suffering from slight concussion 'caused by a fall down the stairs at her home. FOUND SHOT YOUNG MARRIED MAN'S DEATH At about 1.30 yesterday afternoon the body of Robert Bruce Robertson, a married man, aged 25 years, was found in an orchard adjoining his home at Outram.
