Mr Gordon Bell will be out of town until January 8. The Dunedin contingent of Scouts which is to attend the World Scout Jamboree at Sydney, left yesterday by the midday express to join the Awatea at Wellington. Prior to the closing of the office for the Christmas holidays, three presentations were made to members of the staff of the New Zealand Tablet Company. The marriage of Miss Peggy Ryan and Mr Con Walsh had' been arranged for Boxing Day, Miss Bernice Smith was also to be a Christmas bride, and Mr Bruce Cornish was leaving for other employment. The manager referred to the esteem ;n which all four members of the staff were held, and wished them every success and happiness in the years to come. His remarks were endorsed by several other speakers, and after the presentations had been made the recipients suitably acknowledged them. Mr G. H. Mackley, general manager of railways, who is spending a holiday in the south, was a visitor to Dunedin over the week-end. Northbound passengers by Union Airways on Saturday morning were Miss D. Robbie for Palmerston North. Southbound passengers on Saturday afternoon were Mr A. L. Heenan, Miss E. Clements from Palmerston North, Mr L. Porteous from Wellington, Mr J. Sheridan from Wellington, Mr C. B. Hulme. Miss M. G. Jeffreys, Miss Hall and Mr J. Gilchrist from Nelson, and Miss E. M. Thomas and Mr T. Mcßride from Christchurch Northbound passengers on Sunday were Mr S. Saltzman for Christchurch. Mrs R. H. Millard, Miss E. Millard and Miss B. Brown for Blenheim. Mrs A. Wachner, Mr R. Mansfield, Mr J. R. Luff for Wellington, and Mr J. L. Henderson for Auckland. Southbound passengers were Mr H. Rosevere from Auckland, Mrs M. A. Penn, Mr N. A. Cook from New Plymouth, Mr and Mrs M. McGowan, Mr J. Thompson from Wellington. Mr T. B. Campbell from Blenheim, and Miss B. Dickey and Mr M. Wylie from Christchurch. Northbound passengers yesterday were Miss J. Tomlison for Blenheim, Miss N. Fogg for Napier, and Mr E. Burt for Auckland. Southbound passengers by the afternoon plane were Mr P. H. Graham, Mr G. Child, Mrs S. Child. Mr F. C. Holmes from Wellington, and Mr Fergus from Palmerston North.
