AN AIRMARK
If a notable event on land is a landmark we suppose a notable event in the air may be called an airmark.
It is indeed notable that the first consignment of perishable fruit and flowers has been sent from South Africa to Europe by aeroplane. It is thought that fruit picked "table ripe " can thus be landed in good condition without an expensive system of preservation en route. We do not know what the costs are or how such a method compares with cold storage.
