ROXBURGH CLUB'S MEETING AUSTRALIANS IN FORM The visiting Australian athletes, E. W. Best and G. Backhouse, were in good form at the Roxburgh Amateur Athletic Club's annual sports meeting yesterday. After recent stormy weather, < the' day broke brilliantly fine, and the meeting was held in pleasant conditions. The presence of the Australian runners, who were weicomed to Roxburgh by the Mayor (Mr F. A. Laloli), attracted a large attendance to the meeting. Best in particular was in excellent form, and, although the times were somewhat slow, he showed to some extent his ability as a sprinter. He won both SDrints with plenty in reserve. Backhouse also showed a glimpse of top form to win the halfmile and the mile. The other events were keenly contested and provided the spectators with some interesting finishes.
