CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE
THE OUTBREAK IN BURMA STATE OF EMERGENCY RANGOON, Dec. 22. A state of emergency has been gazetted as the result of civil disobedience. Mr Usaw, editor and member of Parliament, who was leader of the demonstration on December 19, and two associates, declining to pay fines, went to gaol amid the cheers of the crowd.
