MOSGIEL PRESBYTERIANS

CHRISTMAS SERVICES One of the most successful Christmas services held on the Taieri was that of the Mosgiel Presbyterian Church. The choir was under the baton of Mr Pilling, and Miss Jean Hendry was at the organ. The Rev Professor Collie was the preacher. At the mornii service Jackson's "Te Deum" was sung, in addition to the "Gloria' from Mozart's Twelfth ./lass. Miss Jean McGregor sang "He shall feed His flock" (Handel) and the anthems were "First Noel," "From Every Spire," and " The Brightness of Thy Glory." In the evening the opening anthem was "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear." A special rendering was given of the favourite Christmas hymn "Sileni Night." Misses Graham and W. Gibson, and Messrs Dryden and Aitken sang a hymn as a quartet, Miss Anita Proctor sang a solo, "The Birthday of a King," and Mr John Edgar sang "Nazareth." In ddition t< these, some of the anthems sung at the morning service were repeated.
