CRICKETER'S WIFE ROBBED ' TWO MEN ACQUITTED <From Our Own Corresponpent) (By Air Mail) LONDON. Nov. 24. On charges relating to £2300 worth of jewellery owned by Mrs Walters, wife of Mr C. F. Walters, the England and Worcestershire cricketer, two men were acquitted at Stafford Assizes. They are Myers Hyams. 60. a commission agent, of Aldgate High street, London, who is charged with receiving a quantity of jewellery, and Benjamin Isaacs, 53, licensee of the Black Horse, Leman street. Aldgate, charged with aiding and abetting in the offence. It was alleged that on July 30 the jewellery was stolen while Mr and Mrs Walters were on holiday, and was taken by two men named Buxton and Cooper to London, where they got in touch .with Hyams through Isaacs. Hyams, it was alleged, paid £4O for the jewellery, and not having sufficient ready cash, borrowed £l6 from Is93CS ' Mr J. F. Eastwood, KG., for Hyams, submitted that the only thing against his client was tainted evidence. Hyams and Isaacs, in the box, both . denied the allegations against them.
