Miss Joyce Thomson, assisted by her parents, Mr and Mrs F. D. Thomson, of Hampden, entertained her school friends and fellow-prefects of the Waitaki Girls' and Boys' High Schools a. a farewell dance held on December 14 in the Peter Pan Hall, Oamaru. The hall was prettily decorated with orange Iceland poppies, intermixed with blue lupine and larkspur. During the evening, supper was served in the Star and Garter Tea Rooms adjoining the hall. Music for dancing was supplied by Mr Frank Mitchell, extras being played by the Misses Noeline and Joyce Thomson.
