COMPANY’S DENIAL NO KNOWLEDGE OF OFFICIAL INSPECTION CHALLENGE TO MINISTER (Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND. Dec. 22, A statement that the New Zealand Tung Oil Corporation had no knowledge of an inspection about seven months ago which the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Lee Martin) said he had made was made by the managing director of the Corporation (Mr J. E. Ray), The following telegram was sent to the Minister bv Mr Ray:— “ Your statement published in this morning’s Herald states that an inspection was made by you seven months ago and that authority was given to the Department of Agriculture for a proper survey In fairness to the company and its shareholders, we demand full information as to the day and date of your personal visit, as well as those of the departmental officers. The company has no knowledge of either. We still await a reply to our telegram to you sent yesterday. Failing the immediate receipt of the ininformation requested, we must, in fairness to our shareholders, publish the full facts throughout New Zealand.”
