Had passengers by the 8 a.m. ferry from Stanley Bay been on the lookout the other morning (says the Auckland Star), they would have seen an unusual sight. It was a white swan in flight across the harbour. The swan lives on Lake Pupuke, where it is the proud father of a family of six. but following a disagreement with “Mrs Swan." it left home for a few days. It took up quarters on the beach at Stanley Bay.
