CITY POLICE COURT
Thursday, December 32 (Before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M.) Young Woman Charged Georgina McCullough, aged 18, was charged with being an idle and disorderly person, in that she had insufficient visible lawful means of support. She was remanded in custody by consent to January 4. —Sergeant Lean asked for a remand in custody. The accused had been a ward of the State since she was 13, he said. She could not keep a position, and would not look after herself. For the past week she had been walking about the streets, sleeping in cars and other odd places. She had been in institutions, but had escaped from them. It had been found impossible to keep her. Maintenance Application for separation, maintenance, and guardianship orders was made against Arthur McLeod, for whom Mr 0. G. Stevens appeared. The complainant was represented by Mr B. S. Irwin. Evidence was taken, and the magistrate refused to make a separation order, but fixed maintenance for the complainant and her child at 25s a week and made a guardianship order in favour of the complainant.
