SCOUTS’ JAMBOREE
THE SYDNEY GATHERING TEN THOUSAND IN TENTS SYDNEY, Dec. 22. (Received Dec. 23, at 1 a.m.) Preparations for the Boy Scouts’ jamboree, which will begin next Thursday at Bradfield, a northern suburb named after the harbour bridge designer, are well advanced. Five hundred acres will be under canvas to house 10,000 Scouts, who are arriving from all parts of the world. Huge contracts for catering have been arranged, and all essential services will be provided, including a hospital capable of accommodating 60 patients. New Zealand, with 600 Scouts, will have the largest representation. Other countries which are sending contingents are the United States, Canada, Ceylon, England, Wales. France, Hungary, India, Noumea. Scotland, South Africa, and the South Sea Islands.
