OFFICIAL FORECAST CLOUDY TO OVERCAST The following is the official weather forecast:— Pressure is relatively high over and north of New Zealand, but low near Chatham Island, while a fresh depression is advancing across the Tasman Sea. Indications are for:— Winds.—South-westerly at first in a few places, but moderate to strong west to north-west soon prevailing. Seas.—New Zealand waters: Slight to moderate, but rising about Cook Strait and on the West Coast. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong west to north-west winds, but a change to southerlies advancing from the west to-day; seas rather rough to rough at times. Weather.—Mainly cloudy to overcast, with rain at times in most districts, but more especially from Taranaki and Wellington southwards; some thunder probable; temperatures mild. WEATHER IN DUNEDIN The weather was fine and sunny yesterday, when temperatures were mild, the maximum being 62 degrees. The day was line . with the sky cloudy, and a moderate westerly blew all dav. The maximum temperature was 73 degrees and the barometric pressure fell, the reading at 6 p.m. being 29.85 in. WELLINGTON, Dec. 19. The weather to-day was mainly cloudy to overcast, with sunny intervals. The wind changed from the south to the north-west, and the temperature rose. In the late afternoon light rain began. The minimum temperature last night was 50.9 degrees, and the maximum to-day was 66.0 degrees. At 3 p.m. the barometer registered 29.717 in. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 19. The day was warm and dull in Christchurch to-day. A light to moderate north-westerly wind veered to the north-east in the afternoon. There was no rain. The maximum temperature was 61.6 degrees. The barometer at 5 p.m. registered 29.709 in and was falling slowly.
