MURDER ALLEGED
ALTERATION IN CHARGE JESSIE EVA DICKSON REMANDED The charge of assault causing actual bodily harm against Jessie Eva Dickson was withdrawn when she appeared on remand before Mr H. W. Bundle, S.M., in the City Police Court yesterday, and a charge that the accused murdered William Dickson at Dunedin on December 12 was substituted. Chief Detective Holmes asked permission to make the withdrawal, and the substitution, and when this was granted, he applied for a remand to January 12. The application was granted. The question of the accused's domicile while on remand was raised by her counsel, Mr J. G. Warrington. It would be of material benefit to the accused and to himself if she were allowed to remain in Dunedin, he said. Chief Detective Holmes said that arrangements to that end were being made.
