At the final meeting for 1938 of the Greenfield branch Miss L. Kleim reported on Country Women's Week. It was decided to send a donation of eggs to the children's health camp at Pounawea. Mrs Christie demonstrated on hemstitching by hand, and a competition—Birds' Wedding—was won by Miss M. Craig. The competitions for the month resulted:—Best bloom: Miss L. Treacy 1. Miss R. Bishop 2. Best arranged jam jar of flowers; Miss M. Craig 1. Shilling competition: Mrs McNamara 1. A market was held in order to raise funds for the renovation of the soldiers' memorial. A cake made by Mrs Barnie brought £2 7s 6d, Miss Jean Latimer being the winner.
