OTAGO REPRESENTATIVES APPOINTED RUNA TO REPRESENT PROVINCE On the recommendation of the judges of the Cornwell Cup trials, which were completed at the weekend, Runa has been selected as the boat to represent Otago at the contest to be held at Bluff early in the New Year, with T. S. Camp as skipper and W. A. Carrington as forward hand. The report of the judges was received at the meeting of the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Association last night, when the president, Mr J. D. Cameron, occupied the chair, and ihere were also present Messrs C. Smith L R. Ward, W. P. Gibson, A. Cameron, C. Nees, J. A. Kewish. G. King, and R. E. Ham. The judges, Messrs L. R. Ward, u. A. Wiseman, and J. A. Kewish, reported that nine races had been sailed in the Cornwell Cup trials, but in the second all who had finished had been disqualified, while the seventh race had been declared off with the expiry of the time limit. The results were: T. S. Camp, three wins; L. Todd, two wins; W. Watson and J. Wilson, one win each. It was recommended that T. S. Camp should be selected as skipper of the Otago crew for the 1939 contest, and that this boat, Runa. should also be selecteu. The races had been particularly close, the report concluded, and all those taking part deserved congratulations on the way they had handled their boats. The report was adopted, and the judges were thanked for the work they had done in the trials. Mr L. R. Ward was appointed manager of the Otago crew.
