Cricket On Saturday Maniototo played its first game against South Otago for the Crosby Morris Cup at Patearoa. The weather was ideal for cricket, and after a close and interesting game Maniototo was successful in withstanding South Otago's challenge. The playing area was in good condition. South Otago batted first, and at the luncheon adjournment eight wickets werp down for 85 runs. The innings closed for 98 (Robinson 21, Hill 18, Baxter 18. Tomkinson 14). Maniototo replied with 122 (James Blakely 12, John Blakely 15, E. Blakely 10, Becker 21, Murray 14, McSkimming 11 not out). In the bowling, E. Blakely (Maniototo) took three for 9, and Barron three for 17. Guest (South Otago), with three for 30. finished with the best figures.
