INTOXICATED MOTORIST
SEVEN DAYS IN GAOL (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 19. A sentence of seven days' imprisonment was imposed on Leslie James McPike, a motor mechanic, of Onehunga, in the Police Court to-day for being intoxicated while in charge of a car on Saturday afternoon. The police said that the car collided with a motor cycle, but did not damage it. The magistrate (Mr F. H. Levien) also fined McPike 20s and costs (255) for not having a driver's licence. The accused pleaded guilty to both charges.
