WORLD'S CHAMPIONSHIP EIGHTEEN-FOOTERS' RACE FOR AUCKLAND (Peb United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 19. A cablegram has been received from the secretary of the Sydney 18footers Sailing League, stating-that an agreement has been reached with the Brisbane clubs, and the 18-foot world's championship will be sailed in Auckland in February next. While in Sydney recently Mr George Dennes. of Auckland, arranged that four of Sydney's fastest 18-footers—-the Taree, the Eileen, the Malvina and the St. George—and their crews should arrive at Auckland by the Awatea on February 13 to compete for the New Zealand championship. The question of the world's championship m Auckland Was raised in Australia, but the Brisbane clubs objected that the race should be sailed in the State that last won the race, which is New South Wales. The Sydney Sailing League took up the question with Brisbane, with the satisfactory result indicated.
