ARMING OF GERMANY MAINTENANCE OF AIR STRENGTH ATTENTION TO TRANSPORT NAZI PARTY EXTENSION (United Press Association) (By Electric Telegraph Copyright) BERLIN, Dec. 17. (Received Dec. 18, at 9 p.m.) The correspondent of the British United Press says that after three years of concentration on armaments Germany is now slackening her activities in that direction, and is switching over to the neglected transport system, where military needs will not be overlooked. It is stated that .the Reich does not wish to accumulate too many arms which may be out of date in two years, but will maintain her aircraft output, in which she is able to outbuild any three nations. Work for Czechs The News Chronicle's Prague correspondent says the Government is considering an offer from Berlin to find work in Germany for Czech unemployed. Germany is reported to be taking at least 100,000 Czechs into German industry with appropriate wages. German foreign trade shows an adverse balance for November of £6,000,000 sterling. The exports dropped by £3,000,000 and imports by £333,000. The adverse balance for the 11 months amounts to £17,000,000 sterling. Measures Against Jews In Vienna, the city's largest pawnbroker, Gerhold. recently subscribed £ 10,000 sterling to the Nazi Party's Herr Buerckel, who regarded this as a bribe, arrested Gerhold and distributed the money among 5000 of the city's destitute people. Jews have been banned from the labour exchanges, pending the creation of a special burea. A Nazi Party has been formed in Bohemia, including a black guard, but at present swastikas are worn only indoors. Crucifixes have been officially restored to all classrooms in accordance with the pre-war custom. Ukrainian will be the official language in Ruthenia.
