RIFLE SHOOTING
TRIANGULAR INTERCLUB MATCH .. ~ A triangular match between teams representing the Dunedih, West Taieri, and Kiwi Defence -Rifle dubs was .fifed on the Pelichet Bay range on Saturday afternoon. A light, variable fight rear breeze and a glaring light at the longer range helped to keep the scores down. .The shoot consisted of seven shots'with two optional sighters at. 500 and 600 yards. Possibles were registered at 500 yards by E. Adams (Kiwi) and. J. Cowle (Dunedin) and at 600 R. Gillick and H, Tattersfield (Kiwi) and R. Leslie, sen. tDunedm) also secured possibles. The match was -closely contested, and resulted in a win for Kiwi by a narrow margin. , . • . .■'■.-..■'-.■ During.the interval between' ranges. Captain. A. Dempster, a past- president of the Kiwi ;Club, presented the cup bearing his name to C. Kibblewhite. Kiwi service champion 1938-39. At the close of thema"tch Mr R. Mackie congratulated the i winning 1fr an }' Mr Ashley, president of the West. Taieri Club, thanked the Dunedin Club for entertaining th> West Taieri riflemen.
