LABOUR IN AUCKLAND
THREATENED SPLIT THE STANLEY EPISODE UNIONIST RANKS DIVIDED (Peb United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 17. Repercussions which may divide opinion in unionists' ranks in Auckland are expected to follow the decision of the Auckland District Cbuncil of the Federation of Labour in passing a vote of no-confidence in the Auckland representative on the National Executive of the federation (Mr T. Stanley). Some unions are considering the advisability of calling meetings to place the views of their delegates before members. The Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants (workshops section) meets on Monday evening,' and it is hinted that there is a possibility of the branch lining up on the side of Stanley, who emphatically denies the charge that he opposed the action of the National Executive of the federation in recommending the men at Otahuhu to resume work during the recent trouble pending investigation of their grievances.
