URUWHENUA TRAGEDY
KERR CHARGED WITH MURDER REMANDED TO NELSON INQUEST OPENED ON VICTIMS <Per United Press Association) NELSON, Dec. 17. At a sitting of the Magistrate's Court at Takaka to-day, before Mr R. W. Kirk, J.P., Arthur Frederick Kerr, farmer, of Uruwehnua, was charged with the murder of his wife. Lorna May Kerr, at Uruwhenua. on December 16. On the application of- Inspector J. Carroll, the accused was remanded to appear at the Magistrate's Court at Nelson on Monday, December 19. An inquest on the victims was opened at Taleaka this morning for identification purposes and adjourned sine die by the coroner (Mr W. Kirk. J.P.).
