Wilson, of Greymouth, and Marjory Nance, younger daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Norman Wood, of Christchurch. Dried fruits are best slowly cooked in the oven in a covered casserole Well cover with the water in which they have been soaked overnight, but do not add sugar until they are soft, or it is apt to harden the fruit. If the fruit is wanted in a hurry and has not been previously soaked, cover with hot water, leave to stand for half an hour or so if possible, then cook slowly as above.
