Vice-Regal The Governor-General, Viscount Ga'iway, and Lady Galway, arrived in Auckland from Lake Tarawera yesterday afternoon. They were accompanied by the Hon. Mary and the Hon. Celia Monckton, and by Lieutenant S. R. Le H. Lombard-Hobson, R.N., and Captain R. Stuart French. A.D.C.'s. Their Excellencies have taken up residence at Government House, where they will remain for some time. Mr Alec Regan left on his return to Wellington by the through express yesterday. Mr E. T. Company, is at present on a short visit to Dunedin. A Press Association cablegram from Suva states that the Governor of Fiji left in'H.M.S. Leander on an official visit to Tonga. He will return on December 15. A Press Association telegram from Wellington states that Mr T. W. J. Johnson has been appointed a member of the Medipal Council under the Medical Practitioners Act. 1914. . Mrs S. Chapman, of Clyde, left by the express yesterday morning for Wellington to attend a meeting of the Board of Examiners for mine managers and dredgemasters. Northbound passengers by Union Airways yesterday morning were Messrs J. Ormond, E. McSherry, Miss E. Cropp and Mrs T. Condon for Christchurch, and Mr K. J. Lander for Wellington. Southbound passengers by the afternoon plane included Miss F. Burdett from Nelson.
