CLERICAL WORKERS
THE CANTERBURY UNION VOTE ON DISAFFILIATION The Canterbury Clerical Workers' Union has decided by a majority of 17 votes in a poll of 1128 not to cancel its affiliation with the New Zealand Clerical Employees Association A postal ballot on a motion to disaffiliate from the association was taken among members over a week ago, and after the position had been considered several times by the executive the secretary of the union (Mr T. Nuttall), as returning officer, declared the result officially as follows: Against disaffiliation .. 572 For disaffiliation .. .. 555 Informal 1 Maiority against disaffiliation 17 Total votes. 1128. total ballot papers issued. 2396.
