TRADE AGREEMENT
BRITAIN AND AMERICA NEW YORK, Nov. 3. (Received Nov. 4, at 0.15 a.m.) The Washington correspondent of the New York Herald-Tribune says the Anglo-Am rican trade agreement is i: the final stage of negotiation and completion may be reached ii. a fortnight. It is understood that one of the most controversial issues namely, automobiles, is being satisfactorily worked out. The United States has asked Britain to bind or freeze its present rates on American automobiles, with the exception of low horse-power vehicles, thus enabling • British tariff rises against small German -ars, the competition of which is particularly feared by Britain, whereas larger American cars for 4 he greater part are not competitive.
