PROGRESS OF HAMILTON
LARGE LOAN TO BE RAISED STREET IMPROVEMENTS AND NEW TOWN HALL (Per United Press Association) HAMILTON, Nov. 3. A decision to take the necessary steps to obtain authority for a poll of ratepayers on a proposal to borrow £ 138,000 for 20 years for street improvement, the expenditure to be spread over 10 years, was made by the Hamilton Borough Council. It also decided to take steps to raise loans of £6500 for the provision of conveniences, and £IO,OOO for extension of the sewer system.
The borough engineer, Mr R. Worely, was authorised to prepare plans and specifications of a Town Hall costing (without the site) £25,000.
