BURNSIDE STOCK SALE

DECREASED CATTLE ENTRY FAT CATTLE There was an entry of 243 fat cattle forward for yesterday’s Burnside stock sale. The offering comprised principally medium quality bullocks, with only a small percentage of heavy grades. The cows and heifers penned, apart from a few consignments of good quality sorts, were mostly medium descriptions, and also included several light and unfinished animals. The supply was barely adequate for requirements, and the sale opened with good competition, bullocks showing an appreciation in value of from. 10s to 15s per head, while cows and heifers were £1 firmer. There was no material alteration throughout the sale, apart from the last race, where there was a slight easing tendency noticeable in prices for medium quality bullocks. Values were:—Extra prime heavy bullocks to £25 2s 6d, prime heavy from £lB 7s 6d to £2O 17s 6d; medium quality from £l3 17s fid to £l6 7s fid, light down to £9 12s 6d, extra prime cows and heifers to £ls 2s fid, prime from £ll 2s fid to £l2 17s fid, medium quality from £9 2s fid to £lO 12s fid, light down to £6 2s fid.
