A BROKEN FUSELAGE

NEW TYPE OF- AIRLINER ACCIDENT DURING TEST (British Official Wireless) RUGBY, Aug. 29. (Received Aug. 30, at 5.5 p.m.) The fuselage of an airliner of the new Albatross type broke when the machine was moving on the ground, after a series of successful test landings with an overload at Hatfield. The normal all-up weight of the passenger type of Albatross is about 13 tons. On this occasion the total weight of the plane was about 15 tons.

The De Havilland Company stated that the damage was less extensive than was at first feared.
