TOWN HALL DANCE

COMPETITION NEARING FINAL

Interest in the 1938 Town Hall ballroom dancing contest has shown no signs of flagging, and as next Saturday will be the last opportunity afforded those who are desirous of qualifying for the finals, it is expected that there will be a large entry The management of the dance has decided that the final of the competition will be held on October 22. Miss J. Abraham, of the Abraham School of Dancing, was the judge at the second last heat he.d in the Concert Chamber on Saturday night, when there was a large crowd present. The selected couples were Miss M. Crosbie and Mr J. Glossop, Miss P. Hayden and Mr J. Connor, Miss J, Slight and Mr E. Ford. The music was provided by Mr Alex. Swann's orchestra, Mr James MnoFarlane being in his accustomed role of M.C. Amongst those present were: —Misses Olga Forrester.
