SUNDAY SERVICES

The morning and evening services at Knox Church will be conducted by the Rev. D, C. Herron, M.A. The evening subject will be “Civic Stocktaking.” At First Church the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper will be dispensed at both services. The Hev. W. Allen Stevely’s subjects will be, in the morning, “ Come and See,” and in the evening “ Love’s Challenge.” The evening music will include the quartet (J Bread of the World in Mercy Broken,” and the anthem “Grant, We Beseech Thee, Merciful Lord.” Dr V. E. Galway will be at the organ. “The Great Bible of 1538” will be the Rev. C. G. Hedley Bycroft’s subject at the United Congregational Church to-morrow morning. In the evening the subject will be “The Golden Image, Dura, Speaks of Coming Events.” Miss Jean Calder will be the soloist in the evening. At the Salvation Army, at 11 a.m., the subject will be ‘‘ Moods, Affinities. Impressions," the speaker being Adjutant Victor Dick. At 3 p.m there will be a praise and testimony meeting. and at 7 p.m. the subject will be "A Man. a Woman, and a Razor.” the speaker being Mrs Adjutant Dick. Brother R. Raper will lead an old-time chorus sing to the accompaniment of his piano-accordion. At 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. young people’s meetings will be held, trie leader being Brother Stan. Harford.

To commemorate the forty-eighth anniversary of the work of the Methodist Central Mission, special services will be held to-morrow. In the morning the Rev. H. C. Orchard will conduct the service and the Rev. Leslie Neale will be the preacher in the evening. Miss Alva Myers will be the soloist and the choir will render special music.

At the Congregational Church, Moray place, the Rev. Albert Mead’s subject in the morning will be “Entering the Kingdom,” and in the evening, “ The Bible and the Reformation." The anthem at the evening service will be “Great Is the Lord.”

At the Greater World Mission, the Rev. G. Brooks will speak on the subject “ Life, Death—What Then? ” Clairvoyance will follow and the usual Peace and Prayer Circle will meet. On Tuesday afternoon and Thursday night psychometry meetings will be held.

Dr J M. Moorey. the Australian psychic., will make a further appearance at the Spiritualist Church tomorrow evening when he will give an address entitled “ Undeniable Evidence of Communication from the Beyond,” followed by demonstrations of spiritual clairvoyance. The Healing Centre will meet on Monday evening and there will be a psychometry meeting on Wednesday evening. Pastor Bradley will deliver the third address of the present series in the Strand Theatre to-morrow evening. His übject will be “ Rome in the Witness Box.” Two sessions will be conducted as usual. The communion service will be held at the Maori Hill Presbyterian Church to-morrow morning, with a supplementary communion at the close of the evening service.

To commemorate the sixty-seventh anniversary of the congregation, special services will be held in St. Stephen’s Presbyterian Church. At the morning service the preacher will be the Rev Thomas Miller, and in the evening the Rev. R. T. Dodds. Special music will be rendered by the choir.

The Rev. J. Ewen Simpson will conduct the services at the Hanover Street Baptist Church, speaking in the morning on “The Homeland” and in the evening on “ The God of the Residue.” In the morning the choir will present the anthem “ The Hymn of the Homeland.” and in the evening the hymnstudy “ Somebody's Here with an Aching Heart ” (soloist. Miss Edith Ritchie), and Mr J. Swan will sing “Even Now.” The communion will be celebrated at the close of the evening service.

At Trinity Methodist Church tomorrow Young People’s Day will be observed, and the young people will assist in both services. The Rev. A. Collins will conduct morning worship, and a duet will be sung by the Misses J and N Lane In the evening the Rev B Metson will be the preacher. The choir will render the solo-anthem “Abide With Me” (soloist, Mrs C. L. Roberts). Mr R. Wentworth will sing “The Lord is My Light,” and Mrs E. Firth, of Christchurch, “Fear Not Ye, O Israel.” A duet will be sung by Misses D. Kay and E. Kirkham. At the Theosophical Society five members will give their views on " The Use and Control of Thought as Set Out in Yoga.”
