POLICE DOGS IN LONDON
Though two Labrador retrievers which are to be used for police work in the Metropolitan area arrived at Scotland Yard recently, their future stations were not disclosed, as it is feared they might oe in danger of injury or death from poisoning by evillydisposed persons. They are to be kept at the homes of police officers. Tracking or picking up scent will not be their chief work. They will be used on patrol with police officers, and the jobs at which they are adept include guarding houses while their masters get in touch with police stations, and raising an alarm. The dogs have been so trained that they will not molest anybody or cause injury, and unless a suspect becomes violent they will simply watch over him until he is safely In custody.
