MEMORIAL IN SAMOA TRIBUTES FROM THE PEOPLE APIA, June 16. (Received June 16, at 5.5 P-n}-) To perpetuate the memory of the late Major-general. Sir George Richardson, the former Administrator of Western Samoa, it is Proposed to erect as a memorial by public subscription a bronze table, or other form. Tributes are paid to the benefits of his administration, including the banana industry. He inaugurated the hydro-electric plant and the town water supply was installed, while a wharf for local shipping was built during his Improved sanitation and £ifts ot iana to necessitous villages are also mentioned as acts not forgotten by Samoans. He identified himself with the religious and social life .of the people amongst whom he lived and worked
