MILTON New Links Procured A progressive step has been taken by the Toko Golf Club in the purchase of new links. With the term of its lease of the Domain grounds expiring at the end of next month, the club was faced with the problem of renewing the term or purchasing links for itself. It decided on the latter course, and has purchased portion. of the estate of the late Mrs W. Strain at the “ Narrowdales,” Milburn. The area is 43 acres of undulating country, with several natural bunkers and a creek running through the property. Mr E. F. Douglas, the Balmacewen professional, has assisted the club in laying out the course, and he has expressed the opinion that in a year or two the Toko Club will have a course which will be second to none so far as country courses go. Toko Harriers The local harriers will commence their run to-morrow from the residence of Mr W. Wright, a vice-presi-dent of the club. Borough Council The first meeting of the, newlyelected Borough Council was held on Wednesday night, when the three councillors who were elected last'Friday, also Mr R. Milne, signed the declaration. Cr W. J. Cpckburn was elected Deputy Mayor. Crs U. Walker, . A. E. Currie, and J. W. Anderson were * elected to the Finance and Hall Committee, with Cr Walker as chairman. Crs R. D.
