June 16. 11 The nineteenth annual conference of the New Zealand Bank Officers’ Guild was concluded in Wellington to-dav.,,, The annual report revealed that the; membership had reached 3003, being 90, per cent, of the staffs of the trading banks. The financial position of the, guild was shown to be strong, the acci-., mulated funds amounting to £5267. The report referred to many growing activities of the guild, including the' investment and beneficent, societies, the educational work, the benevolent fund, the group assurance scheme, and the death benefit scheme. Regret was expressed at the decision of Mr H. P. Mourant, the general secretary, to retire at the end of March next, after 19 vears’ service. As a recognition of Mr Mourant’s work for the guild since its inception the conference unanimously decided to confer upon him life membership. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr E. G. Edwards (Wellington); vice-pre-sidents —Messrs H. V. Marshall (Raetihi), H. S. Perry (Dunedin), N. M. Ingram (Otorohanga), J. E. Gudgeon (Christchurch): Executive Committee —Messrs G. R. Cooper, W.
