TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA FIVE OTAGO PLAYERS MITCHELL APPOINTED CAPTAIN (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON. June 15. The 1938 All Blacks for the Australian tour in July and August were announced by the executive of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union to-night. The team was chosen by the sole selector, Mr E. McKenzie, of Wairarapa, after the North v. South match on Saturday, hut its announcement was withheld oending advice from the New South Wales Rugby Union that international rules would be played on the tour. The team is as follows: —

The executive appointed Mitchell captain and McKenzie vice-captain. The New Zealand Rugby team to tour Australia will leave Wellington by the Wanganella on July 7, arriving in Sydney on July 11. It is to leave Sydney for New Zealand on the return trip on August 15. Two managers have been appointed, Dr G. J. Adams (Wanganui), who will attend to the business side of the tour, and Mr A. (Received June 16, at 0.15 a.m.) The Management Committee of the New South Wales Rugby Union decided to accede to the New Zealand Union’s request that the international Rugby Union rules should apply in all matches played by the All Blacks on the forthcoming tour of Australia, which is regarded as likely to provide valuable experience for the Australians’ next tour of England.
