A BIGGER ATTENDANCE FIRST DAY’S TAKINGS Expectations of an increased public interest in this year’s Winter Show were on the way to being realised by the time yesterday’s receipts were added up. They totalled £173 7s 6d, compared with £157 15s for the first day last year. Yesterday’s attendance was swelled by a big representation of primary school children. They had a school holiday because of the annual meeting of the Teachers’ Institute, and they thronged the various corridors of the show throughout the day.
