ALEXANDRA BOWLERS’ BALL

The annual ball of the Alexandra Bowling and Croquet Club was held in the Alexandra Town Hall on Tuesday last, and was one of the brightest local functions held for many years. The hall Was elaborately decorated to resemble Chinese scenes, the lighting effects brought about by the use of Chinese lanterns being particularly effective. The music was in the capable hands of the Collegians Orchestra, and the duties of M.C.’s were carried out by Messrs A. McKellar and W, J. Russell. The grand march was led by Mr and Mrs J. H. Timmings, jun. (presidents of the gentlemen’s and ladies’ bowling clubs respectively), and the Mayor (Mr. W. Bringans), and Mrs W. R. Lloyd Williams (president of the Croquet Club.
