OFFICIAL FORECAST WET AND OVERCAST The following is the official weather forecast:— A shallow depression was crossing the Dominion yesterday, and a secondary is following it across the South Tasman Sea. An anticyclone covers Australia, but a cyclonic depression appears to be developing over the northwest Tasman Sea. Indications are for.— Winds.—Northerlies predominating at first north of Hokitika and Banks Peninsula, but west to south, thence southwards and gradually extending over most of the Dominion; force mainly light to moderate but freshening. Seas. —New Zealand waters: Rather rough to rough in Foveaux Strait, and rising at times in the Cook Strait area, otherwise slight to moderate.
