NAVAL ESTIMATES
SUPPLEMENTARY LIST BRITAIN’S CONSTRUCTION PROGRAMME LONDON, June 2. The Supplementary Naval Estimates total £2,410,000, including £ 1,773,000 for new construction and £92,000 as the first instalment in the purchase of the seaplane carrier Albatross from Australia. The Estimates also provide for the receipt from the Commonwealth of the first instalment of £450,000 toward the price of a cruiser that is being transferred to Australia. The new construction programme comprises two battleships, seven cruisers, one aircraft carrier, one fleet air arm supply ship, three submarines, three mine layers, one destroyer, one submarine depot ship, two gunboats, and 11 minor craft.
