INCREASE IN STRENGTH PURCHASE OF AMERICAN PLANES PARIS. June 2 (Received June 2, at 5.5 p.m.) The Minister for Air (M. Guy Lachambre) told the Air Committee that the Government was ensuring a strength of 2600 planes, of which 900 would be fighters, before April, 1940. Deliveries of American planes, M. Lachambre said, would begin in November and would be completed in April next.
