LONDON TO SYDNEY
NEW DUTCH SERVICE (From Our Own Correspondent) (By Air Mail) LONDON. May 14. The K.L.M. Royal Dutch Air Lines have announced that their extended new eight-day service from London to Sydney will begin on June 27, and will continue twice weekly Batavia is to be reached on July 3 on this initial trip and Sydney on July 5. The Imperial Airways run a nine-day service over the same route. Mails will be carried by K.L.M. from Amsterdam to Sydney, but not from London to Sydney. The first aeroplane in the return direction will leave Sydney on July 7 and reach London on July 14. The K.L.M. aeroplanes will leave London on Mondays and Fridays (evening). On the London-Batavia section, Douglas D.C.3 aircraft will be used, carrying 10 passengers and cruising at-180 m.p.h. On the Batavia-Syd-ney run Lockheed Super Electros will travel at an average speed of 230 m.p.h.
