PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that at the Ordinary Meeting of the Oamaru Borough Council, to be held on the 9th day of June, 1938, the following Rates will be struck for the year ending 31st March, 1939, under the authority of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933,” “ The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1926,” and “The Rating Act, 1925,” and their amendments, viz.:— A GENERAL RATE of ONE SHILLING AND NINEPENCE in the Pound. A SPECIAL RATE of ONE SHILLING AND ONE PENNY in the Pound. A HOSPITAL RATE of FIVEPENCE in the Pound. WATER RATES at the maximum uniform rate chargeable under Section 82 of “ The Municipal Corporations Act, 1933.” That the aforesaid Rates will be struck and levied upon all the Rateable property in the Borough of Oamaru/as shown on the Valuation Roll on the Annual Value thereof. That the whole of such Rates will become payable in one instalment fourteen days after the Sixteenth dav of July, 1938, That the Valuation Roll is now open for inspection. J, BRANTHWAITE, Town Clerk. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a SPECIAL MEETING of the Waitaki County Council held on Friday the 27th Day of May, 1938 the followihg resolution was passed and will be submitted for confirmation as a Special Order at an ordinary meeting of the said Council to be held on FRIDAY the 24th DAY OF JUNE, 1938, at the County Council Chambers, Thames street; Oamaru, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon:— “In pursuance and exercise of. the powers vested in it by Section 195 of ‘The Counties Act, 1920,’ and Section 17 of ‘The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,’ and by virtue of an Order-in-Council made under Section 11 of ‘The Local, Government Loans Board Act, 1926,’ on the 3rd day of May. 1938, and published in the ‘Gazette’ of the 12th day of May, 1938, at page 1092, the Waitaki County Council Hereby Resolves by way of Special Order, as follows: For the purpose of purchasing or leasing land and erecting- thereon dwellinghouses for the occupation of Council employees, the Waitakt County Council hereby authorises the raising of a loan of £5400 at 3 per centum per annum for a period of 25 years.” Dated at, Oamaru this 2nd day of June, i9oB R.
