ATTRACTIVE MANNEQUIN PARADE

DISPLAY OF FUR COATS AND WRAPS The very attractive mannequin parade of fur coats and wraps, which is being staged by the management of the D.I.C. this week, was introduced yesterday morning and to-day by Mr F. W. Prouting, of New York, who gave a most interesting talk on the present trend in styles for fur wraps of all descriptions. Members of the show- 1 room staff, assisted by Miss Jeanette Curtis, then acted as mannequins to display the lovely furs which Mr Prouting has brought to the D.I.C. The first showing was of silver fox and red fox necklets to be worn with frocks or suits for all occasions where smart frocking is indicated. This was followed by a selection of beautiful coats, suited for all occasions—for daytime and evening wear, Coats for the most part are swagger or princess in cut, and petal collars which can be worn either turned up or down at will and pockets are new attractive features. A coat of Russian Kolinsky, of swagger cut and very plain in style, depended for its smartness on the lovely fur and its perfect lines. Another in natural grey squirrel would be a charming coat for a brunette wearer. Natural Alaskan summer ermine, a fur new .to New Zealand, was the basis of another lovely coat, while a coat of Russian water mole, with a neat collar tied in front was suited for smart wear.

Black, said Mr Prouting. has taken New York and London by storm, and for present wear some lovely momton lamb. Cheiking lamb and Chaco broadtail were showing. Miss Jeanette Curtis wearing a lovely coat of American fox, blended to represent silver fox. adapted from a model costing £3OOO made for the Duchess of Windsor attracted much attention. Another very attractive coat of summer ermine displayed a wide cape collar, to be worn in several different styles and adapted from an exclusive creation by Mainbocker Other, stylists included m the selection were Molyneux Schiarparelli anin Viennct All the coats shown although adapted from these famous designers, have been assembled in New Zealand, and in consequence the prices are much lower than would otherwise have been the case.

To preserve linoleum, rub it over occasionally with equal parts of kerosene and olive oil. * # * Heatproof glass ovenware is excellent for cake-baking. No greased paper lining is needed, as the glassware is thick enough to prevent burning, and, being transparent, it allows the progress of the baking to be seen
