Over 200 members of the League of Mothers attended a church parade in the Hanover Street Baptist Church on Sunday last. Sneaking on Genesis 11. 24, regarding the ordination of marriage, the Rev. Ewen Simpson asked his hearers to examine their attitude to marriage to see if love or selfishness was the foundation upon which their home was built—if the latter, a something infinitely precious given by God was being wrecked. No marriage Mr Simpson said, existed without difficulties, and he urged parents to face these difficulties and disappointments, and by bringing a new patience, a new humility and a new understanding, to heal, restore and vitalise anew marriage vows that perhaps pride and selfishness had endangered. Mr Simpson said he rejoiced to have the privilege of addressing an organisation which had as its first object the sanctity of marriage, because the most important thing in the lives of human beings, their most precious possession in the world, was- to be found under the home roof—the family and the children.
