BURNSIDE STOCK SALE

WINTER SHOW YARDINGS FAT CATTLE Four hundred and three fat cattle *fre yarded at Burnside yesterday. Comprising an entry of all grades. There was not the outstanding quality which is usual for the Winter Show sale, but there was a fair proportion of quality ox and heifer beef forward, the bulk of the yarding, however. being medium to green sorts of both sexes. The sale opened with fair competition at prices for all prime beef on a par with last week’s rates, and for this quality a good sale resulted, firming throughout, to show an appreciation of from 10s to 20s, according to quality. Unfinished beef did not meet with the same demand, but it and old cows showed a good clearance at late rates. Values: —Extra prime heavy ox, to £lB 17s 6d; prime heavy, £l4 7s 6d to £l6 12s 6d; primes, £l2 12s 6d to £l4 2s 6d; medium to light, £9 12s 6d to £l2 7s 6d; unfinished, £6 2s 6d to £9 7s 6d; extra prime heavy cows and heifers, £l2 12s 6d; prime, £7 17s 6d to £lO 12s 6d; medium to light, £5 17s 6d to £7 7s 6d; unfinished, £3 17s 6d to £5 2s 6d.
